ONW Procedures Video

For this project, my group consisted of Kenia, Cain, Savannah, and myself. We were assigned to create a 30 second film over a ONW procedure of our choice. Our group felt that many kids needed a refresher or clarification on how to get back into the building after coming back from an appointment or just showing up past the 8:00 am start bell.

The Process
This video was not quickly put together. There was lots of collaboration between group members and planning out of events before filming day. We started by brainstorming ideas for which procedure we would shoot, but soon found that with the knowledge we had, our procedure of choice was the best fit for out group.
On days 1-3 of the storyboarding process, we storyboarded what we wanted the video to both look and sound like. This project was unique however, because there wasn't any audio. For the video aspect, we analyzed different shot styles and ways to incorporate all six shots.
On the following days, we checkout out a camera and equipment to begin shooting and once we had filmed all the shots we wanted, we headed back to the classroom to begin editing.

Filming
Filming for our group was at times frustrating. We were constantly having technical difficulties and often had trouble troubleshooting. Despite these setbacks, we remained calm and tried our best to work as a team. There was some time management struggle towards the beginning, but we soon caught up and were able to fining filming in just a few class periods.

Strengths
For this being the first video I've edited since last year, I feel like there's lots of room for improvement, however, I do feel confident about some things. Our establishing shot was really strong and was also steady with the use of the tripod. In addition, I thought the music choice was fitting to the story and helped the viewer connect to what was happening.

Room for Improvement
For me, I found several areas for improvement. I really enjoy video class but there is so much I need to work on. For example, of our shots were shaky and needed color correction. In addition, smoother transitions could have been used.
